About Jerri and J's Creations
Meet Jerri Scaife
Jerri Scaife, textile artist and fashion designer first tapped into her gift at the age of 12, inspired and mentored by her aunt who designed costumes for exotic dancers.
"I didn't choose this work, it chose me" she says. "It was my passion, it was so much fun! I just took it and ran with it."
"I'm lucky in that I'm not afraid to step out and take chances. I always feel free to experiment and do something different. Some of my best creations have come from mistakes. That's just part of the creative process. I've actually had the experience of someone loving something so much and wanting it so badly, that they bought it right off my back. I love to make people happy."
"I'm intrigued and fascinated by unusual fabric. Helping others to embellish their wardrobe and enhance what they already have is what I do best. And I'm not talking mass production. For me, it's all about one-of-a-kind creations."
"Someone once saw me at a show and said 'Jerri, are you still at it?'
I looked at her and said 'This is something I will always do. When I stop doing it, please check my pulse. I don't think you'll find one.' "
